Looking to put your home on the market? When the selling and staging process begins, many people spend a great amount of their time focusing on the interior of their home. However, it is important to put time and effort into sprucing up the exterior, as this is the very first thing that people see upon pulling up to their potential future home. A very important part of the exterior of your home is your backyard, which you want to come off as comfortable and inviting as possible. Here are two things that you should implement for your backyard before putting your home on the market:
- Make sure you spruce up or install new fencing. If you already have fencing around your backyard, make sure you check to ensure that it is sturdy and clean. If you happen to find any big marks or dents, work to have these repaired before your home is photographed and you have an open house. If it is not currently fenced in, think about installing a fence before putting your house on the market, as many people prefer a fenced in yard – especially with pets!
- Make sure your yard is landscaped and clean. You want your backyard to look as fresh and clean as possible. Ensure that your grass is mowed, shrubs and plants are trimmed, any furniture you have is organized, and clutter is cleaned up. An organized and staged backyard is key to potential buyers being able to picture themselves spending time there!
