The warm weather is here, and with that comes the yearly spring cleaning. While many people spend time focusing on decluttering items within their home and prepping the exterior of their home for the summer months, many forget about or neglect organizing their garage. It can be very easy for garages to become disorganized overtime, making it difficult to easily locate items. We have pulled together some tips and tricks on how you can organize your garage while also maximizing the space. Check them out here:
- Use as much wall space as possible. When organizing all of the items in your garage, use as much wall space as you can to store items such as tools or sporting goods. Consider installing closed cabinets or open shelving depending on what items you are storing and your preference. The more wall space you use, the more space you will have for your vehicles or work benches.
- Strategically position and store items. When storing items, anything that you will use on a daily basis should be front and center and very easily accessed. For seasonal items, these can be stored in harder to reach spaces as you will not find yourself looking for them as often.
- Do not forget about the ceiling. Garage ceilings are great for storage and are very easily missed or forgotten about! For any flat or long items that you need to store, such as ladders, consider storing them on the ceiling so they are not taking up too much space on the floor of your garage.
- Label, label, label! Just as you would with any storage, be sure to label as much as possible so you can find things fast and without any stress. This is especially important for items stored in stacked boxes or cabinets that are not easily viewed.
